Emily Silva, MS, CCC-SLP (Bilingual Spanish)

As a bilingual (English and Spanish) speech-language pathologist, Emily has worked with children from a variety of linguistic backgrounds. Emily is passionate about working with the pediatric population, specifically in the early intervention setting. Emily is a strong advocate for collaborating with families throughout the intervention process to best help your child reach his or her full potential. She believes in creating a fun, engaging therapy environment that encourages and facilitates speech and language development.

Emily Lait is a certified Speech Language Pathologist. She received her Bachelor Degree in Psychology and Spanish Language and Linguistics through North Carolina State University, and she received her Master’s Degree in Speech and Language Pathology through Western Carolina University. She is credentialed with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice within the State of North Carolina.

She has experience with assessment and treatment of children diagnosed with a variety of communication impairments such as speech sound disorders (articulation and phonological impairments), receptive and expressive language disorders, autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome, developmental delays, AAC, and children diagnosed with cerebral palsy and visual and/or hearing impairments. She has a strong understanding of the similarities and differences of phonology and syntax in Spanish and English.

In her spare time, Emily enjoys cooking, reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
