Katie Brusa, MS, CCC-SLP
Katie has over 10 years of experience providing speech and language services in a variety of settings. Throughout those years, Katie has found that what brings her the most enjoyment is working with young children and building a positive rapport with their families throughout their therapy relationship. She is passionate about finding the best ways to make therapy fun for each individual child, which in turn makes the child eager to reach their full potential.
Katie has worked with young children and their families, across a wide variety of populations and disorders. She has experience working with all types of communication delays and impairments, including but not limited to speech sound disorders (articulation/phonological), receptive and expressive language disorders, developmental delays, and feeding and swallowing disorders. She also has experience working with individuals with autism spectrum disorders, down syndrome, cerebral palsy, and hearing impairments.
Katie received her master’s degree in Speech Language Pathology from Appalachian State University in 2011 and a bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from East Carolina University in 2009. She is licensed by the North Carolina Board of Examiners and holds a
Certificate of Clinical Competence through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
Katie grew up on the North Carolina coast and is currently enjoying living in Raleigh with her husband, two children, and dogs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending too much time in Target, reading books from her book club, and trying new restaurants around the Triangle.
