Kathleen Bannister, MS, CCC-SLP

Kathleen has experience working with pediatric patients from birth through high school-aged in a variety of settings, including outpatient clinics, daycare settings, schools, and homes. She has experience collaborating with occupational and physical therapists and has a special passion for collaborating with families and other service providers to provide a holistic approach for children with a wide range of delays and disorders. She enjoys utilizing play based therapy interventions that can be used during activities that children experience in their natural and day-to-day environments.

Kathleen has experience with assessment and treatment of children diagnosed with a variety of communication and global impairments, including autism spectrum disorders, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, AAC, speech sound production disorders, receptive/expressive/pragmatic (social) language disorders, and developmental delays. 

​

Kathleen is a certified Speech Language Pathologist. She completed her Bachelor Degree in Psychology and English at UNC-Chapel Hill and completed her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Western Carolina University. She is credentialed with a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice within the State of North Carolina.

​In her spare time, Kathleen enjoys reading, cooking/baking, and spending time with her family and dogs.
